IT’S THE MOST WONDERFUL TIME OF THE YEAR…It’s almost that time of the year. Yes, correct – CHRISTMAS TIME is almost here and there’s less than a month left until the big celebration! I am so excited, but also overwhelmed and I know how stressful the Holidays can be, because of the fact that everyone is planning their vacations, doing reservations, rushing trough malls and shopping centers to get the perfect presents for each and everyone and etc. Things can get really stressful and anxious and that’s the reason why I want to take the time to share with you some tips in order to prevent that bad energy to enter your soul and in order to be able to spend that time of the year in peace and harmony in order to feel good.
I believe the first and most common thing that can make everyone nervous is to find the right gift and at the same time don’t spend a huge amount of money, so I will start with sharing some tips about buying the Christmas Presents.
BUY ALL THE PRESENTS NOW, DON’T LEAVE IT FOR THE LAST 2 DAYS BEFORE CHRISTMAS
My grandma always thought me to never leave the work that I need to finish today for tomorrow. Yes, I am an adult now and I can literally do whatever I want, but I still choose to listen to my wise grandmother and finish with my work as early as possible. Buying presents can be as stressful as a full working day at the office rushing from one thing to another, but who doesn’t love to gift presents and see the smile of the person who just received it, right? So with the right timing, there will be no anxiety and everyone will be happy, especially you.
What I always do is writing down a list with the names of everyone that I want to gift a Christmas present and spend about 10 minutes to just close my eyes and focus on each and every specific person on the list. What is that thing that the person needs the most or what would that thing be, that would bring a huge smile to their face? When the answer pops out in my mind I just write it down immediately and go to the next one.
SHOP ON SALES AND BUY MINDFULLY
After I have the list and presents figured out, I start with the process of searching. I love shopping online because first I live in a smaller city, where there aren’t many shopping options and second that saves me a lot of time. The best advice I can give to you in order to save some money because Christmas shopping is one of the biggest expenditure of the year, in my opinion, is to take advantage of the BLACK FRIDAY sales that are happening end of this month. You know that there’s the Black Friday going on at the end of this week, so why don’t you spend an hour or two during the weekend and order all of the presents you need and get them at half of their regular price or even less? This is definitely what I plan to do. After all, I have such a huge list, oh my, wish me good luck!

FINALLY, HERE’RE FEW MORE TIPS TO HELP YOU DEAL WITH THE STRESS AND ANXIETY OVER THE CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR’S EVE HOLIDAYS
Find low-cost ways to have fun
If you don’t have enough budget to travel to a fancy destination or go out to a restaurant or fancy bar, just call all your friends and loved ones and let them know that they’re all invited to a dinner and party at your home and everyone should bring something special they prepared by themselves. You can even organize a “Christmas or New Years Eve Chef’s Evening”. This would make the party even more fun. Also, why don’t you add a chef’s dress code? Then there will be no need to spend a crazy amount of money on fancy dresses and shoes and everyone will be wearing their aprons!
Do some yoga and exercise a lot
It’s easy to see how exercise can take a back seat during the holidays. You’re out of your normal routine, there’s too much to do, you’re hungover, you’re too full. The fact that we have all that going on, means that exercise is more essential than ever. Exercise is one of the best things you can do to stay calm and to feel good. So make sure you keep up your routine this Christmas; jog around your parent’s village, explore the suburbs of your in-laws on a bike or try some home workouts. The added benefits of staying active over the holidays are that you hopefully mitigate any festive weight gain, improve your mood, burn off excess anxiety-related adrenaline and if you’re exercising outside, get a bit of happiness-boosting sunlight. Also, try to do yoga and meditate at least 10 minutes every single day, especially during that period! You will absolutely feel the positive impact of these activities and your body will also thank you!
Take time for yourself
Make sure you schedule in time for yourself. Christmas can all too easily be about family, cooking, travel and boozy late nights with friends, which is great, but not if it makes your anxiety worse. Be sure to schedule in some time for yourself, take yourself off for a walk, have a daily bath, sneak off to read your book, or meet friends for lunch instead of dinner and get an early night. Try to see it as an essential investment in yourself, recharging your batteries so you can be your calmest and happiest self for you and for others.
With all that said, I am wishing you a very HAPPY HOLIDAYS and let them be MERRY AND BRIGHT and of course stress and anxiety-free! Have a wonderful time and don’t forget to ENJOY EACH MOMENT SPENT WITH YOUR FAMILY AND LOVED ONES!
❥ Love and light,
