Malta is a small gorgeous island country, consisting of an archipelago in the Mediterranean Sea. It’s very interesting with its prehistoric temples, fossil-studded cliffs, hidden coves and history of remarkable intensity.
What makes Malta unique is that so many things from its past have been preserved to this day. Not only the numerous prehistoric temples, but also the Hypogeum – a labyrinth with historical underground hall, probably used for funerals or rituals, the baroque capital Valetta with its surrounding enormous fortress walls, founded by the knights of St. John, the Medieval Maltese capital Mdina and the fortified citadel of Gozo. This country is full of history.
We stayed in one of the famous tourist resorts – Saint Julians. This place is full of different shops, restaurants, clubs and it’s perfect for young people who wanna have fun. We are actually not that kind of young people, so we enjoyed some of the gold sand beaches, long walks to Slima (the other very popular and preffered resort, right next to St.Julians) and beautiful views which you can see from almost every spot of the island.
We found some wonderful beaches with golden sand and turquoise colored water. That was something I fell in love with and also with the beautiful sunsets, we were lucky to see from different places. The most beautiful sunset we catched was in Gozo island it left me really speechless. One of the most exciting things to do when you’re in Malta is visiting Gozo island. You will love it.
Another interesting place to visit is the Medieval Maltese capital Mdina – the quiet city. This small city is very beautiful and very quiet because it’s not aloud to go in with a car and only the local people have the permission to do that. Mdina is a place to fall in love with with its small streets between the buildings with amazing architecture. Every home has a lovely colorful front door and windows, that I really loved.
The food in Malta is very close to the Sicilian cuisine. You can eat delicious pizza, pasta and gelato almost everywhere. Another thing we fell in love with were the Maltese traditional sweets. No words about them, just try. 🙂
So go to Malta and fall in love with this beautiful island country ♥ !
